| I'm a watch person with a collection of about 25, including Rolex to other Casio atomic watches. I've found Casio G-Shocks to be almost indestructible. After a renovation project that carelessly left one solar/atomic watch caked with cement, grout and dust, I merely let the watch soak in water and dish detergent and after a day was able to clean and polish the metal case and band and amazingly it looked better than new though several years old! Admittedly I prefer simplicity in functionality and this was a reluctant Chrono purchase. It arrived promptly as Amazon always makes happen, and the watch's initial impression was that it was attractive and masculine with a precise high tech look. As other reviewers have said, the instruction manual is tiny and it takes patience to determine how to use the watch's features. Unfortunately, when I sync'd the watch it was successful in resetting the wrong date that the watch was set to, but the actual time was 2 minutes behind. Repeated syncs didn't resolve the problem. But the main disappointment was the visibility of the dials. The print and details are so tiny that I had to only infer what the readings were. (The tiny hand pointed to the next to last notch, so it was a pretty good guess that the day was Friday!) Also, 12 times a day the second hand would obscure the information on the first dial which were already very hard to read. So, on the positive side, no doubt the watch would be very accurate once set correctly, the band is comfortable and the overall look is attractive. But that's as long as you're only using it to read the time which for me is not why you buy a watch with specialized features. No doubt, as in all things, this is a matter of personal taste and preference. But before you make this purchase, be certain you have razor sharp vision, and be certain to prefer going from point A to B by first detouring to C, D and maybe J. Mine went back to Amazon after one day. |
